about

Ministry had started in the early-80s as more of a new romantic styled synth-pop act, but gradually got darker in their sound and lyrical concerns, with records such as college radio hit “Everyday (Is Halloween)”. Adrian: “I got contacted first by Jim and Dannie who ran Wax Trax!*. Al (Jourgensen) and I had both become dads at the same time, with baby daughters a few months old, so we had quite a lot in common. We started the record in Chicago and finished it in Wood Green.” The resulting album, Twitch, would share rhythm tracks with the first Keith LeBlanc solo album, Major Malfunction, released in the same year, and provided inspiration for the DJ moniker of one half of Glasgow club institution Optimo. “All Day” is an earlier Jourgensen production that Adrian had remixed at the start of their working relationship, before getting more hands-on with the album sessions. He also helped out on tracks on follow-up record The Land Of Rape And Honey.
