about

KMFDM were also part of the Wax Trax! family, originally starting out as a performance art project based in France and Germany, with loose ties to cult noise act Missing Foundation. The founding member and mainstay throughout has been frontman Sascha Konietzko, who Adrian remembers “used to follow us round on our gigs in Germany. He kept asking me to record some stuff with them, so eventually I did about five tracks in one evening with a bottle of wine down my neck. Then they kept coming out over the next few years!”. AllMusic critic Dave Thompson commented that the resulting tracks "highlighted the producer as much as the band". KMFDM eventually relocated to the US where they enjoyed the majority of their success, and they remain a popular touring act to this day.
